Summer 2014 Recap~ Krystel and Matt's Wedding Day.

The wedding day was full of moments that we will forever remember. The highlight of the occasion was having both grandmas at the event. My mom flew from Chile a couple weeks before the big day and she was able to enjoy the days of preparation with both granddaughters which made it extra special for me. Grandma Schmidt also came to enjoy the festivities. The date was June 21st and the place was "Ivy House" across from Trolley Square. So much joy…

Summer Recap 2014~ Bridals

Our niece Ashley from "Ashley Beal Photography" captured these amazing pics of Krystel. It was an emotional day for us to see our beautiful girl as a bride…

Summer 2014 Recap: A Bridal Shower

Krystel's shower was really fantastic with all the attention to detail for an elegant french theme display. Our wonderful friends Julie, Claudia and Reggie helped with the food and the fruit was arranged by Susan. With all this help I just dedicated myself to all the decor detail. Krystel looked radiant and so happy to have all our friends celebrating her. For the event we rented a beautiful space at Hale Theatre, it was perfect . Nothing better than the feeling that so much  work went into this only to have the most amazing results….Happy Day..Oh~La~La

Engagement Pics

Can't believe that the wedding day is almost here.  I had a couple of crazy busy weeks. Between work, Primary and wedding planning seems that there is not much time for anything else.  Krystel and Matt are very happy and busy as well with all that a wedding involves. Cristine did the pictures and she did an amazing job. They were all taken at the City Library. The announcements were mailed and we are ready for the big day June 21-2014.

Holiday Season

This Holiday Season is going so fast …I wish it will last a little longer…This month we hosted a couple Christmas parties at our home. One with my artsy ladies and the other with friends and family. This year as well as last year I did all my shopping online. I tried keeping it simple, but I always end up spoiling the girls with too many fun things that I keep finding for them…such a joy….David finished an amazing new painting that we added to our Christmas cards, he is so talented. I have a few projects that did not get done, but for the most part I did well, considering that now besides my full time job I'm Primary President and  I can finally say that honestly I have time for nothing… Love  my calling and every Sunday children make me feel humble, they are so amazing, so loving and so honest

Gage & Bree

Gage and Bree were married September 24th. It was a beautiful wedding and they both look radiant and so very happy. Seems like yesterday he was just a little boy...The years really went fast, really fast. Now as a family we are creating new memories, wonderful memories with all our children finding true love and happiness.

4th of July.

This year we had a BBQ in our backyard and lots of fireworks. We invited Leif's mom and sisters and we have a great time. Even when our backyard had great shade it was still a very hot and humid evening, but we decided just to stay outside and brave the heat. Our neighborhood had tons of fireworks going and David and Matt took care of ours. We had a scary experience with a firework that tipped over and tried to attack us all...lol..afterward we were all laughing, but seriously it was pretty scary. We made  delicious cupcakes with cream cheese and chocolate chips in the middle, a recipe from Paula Dean..to die for...

Our University of Utah Graduates..

Today was a day that I will cherish forever...Leif and Cristine graduated from the U. Both graduated in Entertainment  Art  and Engineering that translates into Computer Animation. Cristine loves creativity and artsy things and she is beyond talented and makes me really happy to see how she has pursued her dreams and she is going into a profession that she loves.

Girlie learning to sew..

So the sewing machine is finally out of the box...yay...Krystel started to watch some online tutorials and started to give it a try...she is really enjoying it and I can't wait to see the beautiful things that for sure she will make. I received a sewing machine as a gift about 30 years ago and really...it was a nightmare trying to  make anything, it was just a difficult machine. When I picked this machine for her  at Christmas time I did  lot of research and read tons of reviews, I really wanted a machine that could be simple, a machine that for sure will not discourage her from trying to make things. Sewing these days is so fun, there are so many cute ideas of things to make and beautiful fabrics everywhere. I stopped by a scrapbook store the other day and they now have fabrics for quilting and also for small projects, beautiful fabrics with designs that made me think of scrapbooking papers.

Christmas came and went too fast this year..We had a lovely time with all our children, a lovely Christmas Eve dinner that is our tradition. Everyone was happy with their gifts and I love how thoughtful the girls are with the little details, the small touch on everything they do.
We also on Christmas day went to see "The Hobbit" which was fun for everyone. All our decorations are still up in the house, I just can't bring myself to take the trees down...
Right now I started to work in a couple of scrapbooks that I'm giving as gifts and also I'm looking at Love cards for Valentine's...Got many fun things for Christmas and I can't wait to start making a few things.

Angie

I took a couple of days off to spend them with my BFF Angie that was here from Chile. We went shopping to our favorite crafty place, Archivers in Orem. The store was beautiful and we both did some serious spending... Angie has been living in Chile for the last couple of years, but she visits once a year and every time we take off from were we left, we meet 29 years ago. We had a wonderful 4 days together, we went all over the place and Saturday night we had our traditional Christmas party with all our girlfriends here at my home. Let me go back a day and share the fact that David was in charge of the food and dinner for our ward Christmas party,of course that made me on charge of the food..lol..The true is that as always he needed very little help as he is so organized and efficient with any task...so we all had a few busy wonderful days.

The wedding was so beautiful...Cristine looked radiant, the dinner was wonderful and all of our dearest friends were there as well as  family. It was a great evening and now it seems like a dream. We had so much preparation and  anticipation that it seems that events came and went really fast. Our newlyweds are in their honeymoon this week so David and I have been moving more and more presents into their little apartment. Today after we took a big load of boxes I looked around and envision the wonderful times to came ahead, how they will make their little place a home...
