Christmas came and went too fast this year..We had a lovely time with all our children, a lovely Christmas Eve dinner that is our tradition. Everyone was happy with their gifts and I love how thoughtful the girls are with the little details, the small touch on everything they do.
We also on Christmas day went to see "The Hobbit" which was fun for everyone. All our decorations are still up in the house, I just can't bring myself to take the trees down...
Right now I started to work in a couple of scrapbooks that I'm giving as gifts and also I'm looking at Love cards for Valentine's...Got many fun things for Christmas and I can't wait to start making a few things.

Angie

I took a couple of days off to spend them with my BFF Angie that was here from Chile. We went shopping to our favorite crafty place, Archivers in Orem. The store was beautiful and we both did some serious spending... Angie has been living in Chile for the last couple of years, but she visits once a year and every time we take off from were we left, we meet 29 years ago. We had a wonderful 4 days together, we went all over the place and Saturday night we had our traditional Christmas party with all our girlfriends here at my home. Let me go back a day and share the fact that David was in charge of the food and dinner for our ward Christmas party,of course that made me on charge of the food..lol..The true is that as always he needed very little help as he is so organized and efficient with any task...so we all had a few busy wonderful days.

Starting to look like Christmas.

This week David finished his painting that will go on our Christmas cards and of course it is just beautiful.  Most of my shopping is done Online and I ordered ornaments very early this year to make sure I could have a few that I really like. The glass ornaments are from Pottery Barn, that this year as always their Christmas displays are so well done...yes I will love a Pottery Barn house...The small ornaments are the new "Sugar Coated" ornaments from Martha Stewart...awww...they are just adorable and perfect for a small metal tree that I found in one of my craft expeditions. Our big tree s our traditional snowman tree, which includes a collection of ornaments through the years.

Home

Our wood floors are done...all finished...This is a project that was pending for a couple of years and we finally picked the wood and got this going. Found some new rugs as well as David was never really too happy with my choice of the old red rug...I ordered some fabric that I'm hoping I can use to make some new pillow covers in a yellow tone. I need to dust off my old sewing machine and see if I can get this accomplish as sewing is definitive my less favorite thing to do. I will give it my best....

This weekend I had a morning of crafting with the ladies. Love the Christmas ornament we made. My intentions are to put together a garland with handmade paper ornaments, but each ornament takes time and all the pieces need to be glue perfectly so everything connects together very nicely. Last month we started to make an exchange of two Christmas cards per month. This really helped me look for everything I have to make holiday cards and ornaments and also truly motivated me to make cards..

Park City

We left around 10 am for what developed into the most glorious hike. The original idea was just a walk, but we end up hiking and walking close to 3 hours. It was so much beauty  everywhere...ahhh...the colors...Just wanted to stop everywhere for pictures. Huge accomplishment to get everyone away from Laptops and gadgets to enjoy the sun and breathe some uplifting air...

Park City, Utah

This year we decided to rent a place in Park City for a few days. David and I started our mini vacation on Tuesday and the kids all arrived on Wednesday, just in time to celebrate David's birthday. The place turned out to be lovely and with lots of space, including a great kitchen...Yesterday we enjoyed a fab lunch at our favorite restaurant in Midway and a morning and evening walk in Main Street, of course spending time in several cute little shops and sharing a caramel apple from Rocky Mountain...Last night we finished the day soaking in the hot tub looking at the stars.....Loving this time with our little family and the spectacular fall colors.

Expo - 2012

We spend the morning at the Scrapbooking Expo. Krystel and I had a lovely Saturday morning glancing, taking pictures and getting tons of ideas and inspiration. Our favorite booth was and it always is Graphic 54...Their papers are very whimsical and sort of vintage, the colors are old and faded and we just love the look..They always have lots of displays and their paper right next to it, so if you like the display chances are you are buying the paper...and of course we did. Krystel is little by little getting into this fun art, her taste is more vintage and she is the one that made me a fun of these paper designers. This year they added lots of metals, sort of Tim Holtz kind of trinkets..they certainly add to their already beautiful designs.

Last days of summer

Not quite ready for the summer to end...even when the fall weather is so inviting to do so many outdoors things and my favorite time of the year. Our summer came and went and with Cristine's wedding seems that it really was a fast summer. We'll have wonderful memories of this summer, great family times and the most fun wedding memories....

This year we decided to attend the Swiss Days in Midway. I really did not know what to expect as I had never attended before, it is  a real treat for all of us crafters and lovers of the handcrafted things. When I see what people are making and so much creativity it brings inspiration to my world !! Krystel, David and I had a lovely afternoon,  we spend the night in Park City after a great dinner at our favorite restaurant in the area and since David needed to go back to work on Saturday Krystel and I did some serious shopping at the Outlets Stores....of course....how can we not add some shopping to our weekend?

Tabiona- Utah Retreat 2012

These are some of the samples of cards that I made while at our 2012 Tabby retreat. This is our fourth year  and I can only say that is getting more fun and creative every year. Nothing better than spend 4 days with great girlfriends and share tons of creativity. All these ladies are quite talented and we learn so many new techniques when we are together...it is refreshing..We are all friends now for about 17 years  and through the years we have experienced an amazing evolution of talent and creativity...It was fun also having our friend Jolene join us this year from New Jersey.

Taking pictures at the Temple grounds

The wedding was so beautiful...Cristine looked radiant, the dinner was wonderful and all of our dearest friends were there as well as  family. It was a great evening and now it seems like a dream. We had so much preparation and  anticipation that it seems that events came and went really fast. Our newlyweds are in their honeymoon this week so David and I have been moving more and more presents into their little apartment. Today after we took a big load of boxes I looked around and envision the wonderful times to came ahead, how they will make their little place a home...

Our beautiful backyard.

Well, it paid off to be married to a gardener...David enjoys working in the yard, doesn't matter how busy his days are at the end of the day he is always outside making sure every thing is looking to his perfection. We really enjoy our little paradise...We only planted 3 tomato plants, but I have a small variety of herbs growing, they smell so good, specially the Basil. We'll I should say:  David planted only 3 tomato plants...i have a few talents, but gardening is not one of them....Perhaps is a bit strange to prefer winter, but I do..love the cold and the snow, can't stand the heat..but I do enjoy these beautiful flowers...
