Ladies Retreat 2013

This year and for what I think is the fifth consecutive year I spend a few days at our friend's cabin crafting with the ladies. I wasn't able to be there for the five days, but I went for the weekend. It was so much fun and so relaxing. One of my favorite things is to get to use every one tools, gadgets, embellishments and tons of ideas. It is all about creativity and having fun. Lots of time to talk, laugh and of course munch in nothing but sugar...Fun times.

Colors.

This week we got together to make cards and share our love for paper crafting. Love the new colors out there, the new combinations.  We are remodeling Cristine"s room to turn it into a guest room. We'll have some pictures soon. David painted the room this week, picked up the furniture and I was busy looking at bedding online this weekend. Ordered a conformer, pillows and all that was needed. I think by the end of this week we'll have it done...

Hearts.

Today I started to work on a simple Valentines Banner, it turned out so darling...I'm happy with my results. i will hang this from our mantel...Love the Cricut Cartridge that cuts banners, it has several designs to choose from and I keep using it for different occasions during the year. I had all the paper I needed for this project...seriously...paper is my obsession after all...and I also used some little trinkets that Krystel gave me on a gift some time ago. Love hearts and everything that as to do with Valentines...

This weekend I had a morning of crafting with the ladies. Love the Christmas ornament we made. My intentions are to put together a garland with handmade paper ornaments, but each ornament takes time and all the pieces need to be glue perfectly so everything connects together very nicely. Last month we started to make an exchange of two Christmas cards per month. This really helped me look for everything I have to make holiday cards and ornaments and also truly motivated me to make cards..

Expo - 2012

We spend the morning at the Scrapbooking Expo. Krystel and I had a lovely Saturday morning glancing, taking pictures and getting tons of ideas and inspiration. Our favorite booth was and it always is Graphic 54...Their papers are very whimsical and sort of vintage, the colors are old and faded and we just love the look..They always have lots of displays and their paper right next to it, so if you like the display chances are you are buying the paper...and of course we did. Krystel is little by little getting into this fun art, her taste is more vintage and she is the one that made me a fun of these paper designers. This year they added lots of metals, sort of Tim Holtz kind of trinkets..they certainly add to their already beautiful designs.

A little birthday book.

Had fun today finishing this little Birthday book for a beautiful  5 year old little girl. It was all done with Echo Park papers. Love the colors and also the design with several pages in complete different sizes. This makes the book fun for little hands.Some of the pages are really, really small inside the book. I think she will love that. She can now add pictures from her birthday party.

Scrapbooking Expo

All of you know my love for paper crafting...yesterday Krystel and I went to the Scrapbook Expo and we had lots of fun looking at ideas from favorite vendors and lots of new ones. For a year or so I contemplated the idea of buying  Sweet Tooth Boxes and The Flower Shoppe cartridge for the Cricut machine. With the first you can make all kind of little boxes for all type of treats, like cookies, cupcakes and the one I posted here for a cake slice...The second is for flower making and awww....it is so much fun...a cute daisy, vintage flowers and several other ideas. They were both $ 21 each at the Expo...we got both...We had a great time together and my daughter had her first experience watching ladies carrying tons of bags or the ones that carry their baby and use the stroller to transport all their bags..A lot of times you can be admiring a display and a complete stranger will start sharing all their projects with the same stamp set, cartridge or paper , and that is what is fun at the expo...I proudly ended the evening with just 2 new cartridges...a first for me,  i can't possible bring more paper home...This year is all about using what I have. But we both came home with tons of ideas and full of inspirations...

Butterflies

My fav of the moment are butterflies...I see more and more of them in the craft world. Love the butterfly punch from Martha Stewart and also the butterflies on the "Serenade" Cricut cartridge. 

Paper flowers...

A total fascination with paper flowers. have the tools to make them and they are so much fun. They can  be made in all kinds of paper patterns and all kind of sizes and designs. Started to feel crafty again....sigh....it is probably from all that Pinterest inspiration :). I will start collecting some small tree branches, we will have to get rid of one of our trees this spring, sadly enough, but it went into a forever winter look a couple of years ago and this last summer it was just sad to look at it. I will get my small branches from it and the flower making will begin now...

Ladies retreat 2011

This week is my retreat with my girly friends.

 This is with our group of ladies that I've been scrapbooking and card making for about 15 years,

 we started our retreat 4 years ago.

First for a weekend,

 then we added a day and this year we are going for 5 days...

We are going up to a cabin in Tabiona, Utah. 

 We are leaving Wednesday morning and our first stop will be Archivers in Orem, from there to Midway for a bit of more fun shopping and then to our final destination.

Love month.~

February is always a fun month for card making and craft ideas. I love the Bo-Bunny card..but i do love every paper they make for me to play and create. The love frame is a fun idea. My friend Ashley gave me the print as a gift and i found a frame at Pier one that is red perfect, added a little touch on the side. Ready for Valentines...

A few more perzonalized gifts..

Name frames are so much fun to make for friends and co workers. I got the idea from a gift that I received and I was inspired to make a few more...

Gift tag making..

Today i finished my tag project, I really wanted this year to give my  gifts a  personalized little hand made touch to it.
 I got the idea from Pottery Barn over a month ago and I decided that I could make this.
Of course my 'cricut" made this fun and easy as I was able to pre cut the tags and then the letters. I added a little bling to each letter.

Count down to Christmas....

Just some beautiful Christmas ideas. I'm so in the mood for Christmas pretiness and I have so little time to play..I started my Christmas cards and I really will like to make this wreath...Our home is decorated and now I just will like to make a few things...

Creative weekend retreat.

Every year I get together with a group of 5 creative girlfriends up in the beautiful valley of Tabiona Utah. Up in a cabin star gazing, bird watching, nature walking , great laughs and lots of card making and scrapbooking.
